The expedition covers the rich waters around Tromsø. From Grindøya island and the Rya strait — hunting mackerel and Atlantic cod over the seabed ridges — to the deeper channels of Balsfjord for redfish and wolffish, and the intimate arm of Ramfjord where you'll try to outsmart the king of northern waters: the halibut.

    Departure & Tromsø Panorama

    Board at Tromsø Marina (Prostneset), safety briefing and gear prep on the stable catamaran deck. Sail beneath the slender Tromsø Bridge with a photo stop against the Arctic Cathedral, the Tromsdalstinden peak and the Fjellheisen cable car in the background.

    Fishing around Grindøya & Rya

    First anchoring on the seabed ridges near Grindøya — tracking shoals of mackerel and classic Atlantic cod. Moving on to the deeper channels of Rya where strong currents draw in larger predators.

    Deep into the Fjords (Balsfjord & Ramfjord)

    Balsfjord: calmer waters framed by steep slopes, working the bottom with heavier pilkers for redfish and wolffish. Ramfjord: fishing the intimate fjord arm — drifting artificial lures for halibut and trophy cod.

    A return cruise to Tromsø Marina with hot drinks and snacks. Summary of the day's catch and filleting by the captains — take your fresh fillets home.
